       GRAVE OF  DOLMEN

       Dolmen Graves are in Yavuzeli county of Gaziantep. One of them is in Ballık Village and the others are in Küçük Karakuyu Village.

       Dolmen Graves named “gavrikul (stone with hole)” by the local people, starting from about high to are scattered on the land.

       This geographic land where Dolmens are scattered, are limestonehills on the outskirts of Karadağ. During the studies held on the limestone structured land, 26 dolmen graves total are found.

       The saved parts in Gaziantep Dolmens are mostly two bloc stones put together and another bloc stone on them, total three flat and wide bloc stones. Dolmens are filled with stone.

       When we look at the architecture of Gaziantep Dolmens, we see that they carry the Mediterranean feature of Levent region from point of view of roughness and dimensions of the stones with the shape of the dolmen roof and room like Adıyaman Kargalı Dolmens on quadrangle platform. They show similarities with Israel dolmens. These works of art are thought to be done by the public of Bronze Age, like Levant Dolmens.
